Under the RHPA, the Fitness to Practise Committee holds a hearing when allegations of an MRT's incapacity are referred by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee.

The Fitness to Practise Committee is made up of members of the public and members of the profession. It sits as an independent tribunal to reach a fair decision based on evidence presented by the CMRTO and the member. Hearings of the Fitness to Practise Committee are closed to the public.

After a hearing is held, the Fitness to Practise Committee may:

  • Revoke the MRT's certificate of registration
  • Suspend the MRT's certificate of registration
  • Impose conditions on the MRT's certificate of registration
