Components
The QA program includes self-assessment and continuous learning by each member, evaluation by the QA Committee of this self-assessment and continuous learning, practice assessment of members, participation by members in any corrective activity and remediation of behaviour or remarks of a sexual nature by a member towards a patient.
The QA program requires that each member of the College do the following each year:
- Complete the Self-Assessment Profile
- Complete the Continuous Learning Portfolio
- Complete and submit the Certificate of Competence (Quality Assurance Declaration) to the College at the same time as the payment of the annual fee
These QA tools are interdependent: the Self-Assessment Profile is a source of information you will use when you select the activities for your Continuous Learning Portfolio, and the Certificate of Competence (Quality Assurance Declaration) provides the College and the public with evidence of your participation in the program.
Each member must retain the completed Self-Assessment Profile, Continuous Learning Portfolio and Certificate of Competence (Quality Assurance Declaration) for five years. (Other components of the QA program are described in other communications to the members.
